Stockport Exchange has been master planned to create a thriving commercial business district, set around new public space and amenities including a hotel, cafés, restaurants and leisure centre. This scheme comprised of 2 buildings Hotel and office, both with their individual special requirements. Aluprof’s MB SR60 curtain walling system was CWCT project tested to ensure compliance with project design. With the hotel the usual high acoustic requirements applied, with part curtain walling and part windows, this is not easy to maintain. Custom extrusion fin cappings were also applied. The Office building has an expanse of facetted curtain walling with an engineered bespoke solution cantilevered entrance glazing. The reception atrium boasts a digitally printed glass frameless area. With 2 different fittings to the glass and intricate details throughout, our design capability was key.
