The site was split into an office and hotel block respectively. The hotel block (ETAP) was predominantly wrapped in traditional brickwork with slender but high performing curtain walling infills and windows to the bedrooms. In contrast, the adjacent office block facade was fully enclosed by a curtain walling array engineered to support the perimeter maintenance gantries and the large expanse of gold anodised perforated aluminium sheet for solar shading in front. A the top of the building, curtain walling provided for the balustrading to the full building perimeter.
