CSI manufactured and installed an 8 storey staircase in self-finish for Bartlett School of Architecture, currently the 2nd best architectural school in the world. Conventional forms of installation starting from the ground floor and installing using site crane was not available to us. The whole process revolved on the installation methodology, installing from the top down by building a central scaffolding with a hatch designed to take the largest component through, lifted from an electric hoist attached to a roof beam. On the basis of high-res digital 3D cloud scans and parametric modelling from the outside, including installation simulations and temporary works iterations, CSI were able to deliver the project which was hailed as a success. We pride ourselves of always finding a way around obstacles presented to us by using up-to-date technology combine with in house prototyping and trained staff.
